The CPI district council will conduct padayatra from November 21 to 29 in the district asking the Government to distribute lad to poor families, provide house sites and ration cads. The Padayatra is also against bauxite mining in the district. This was announced by the CPI district secretary JV Satyanarayana Murty at a press conference on Saturday.

Though the Government was getting ready to take up the third phase of land distribution in April, the party found that nearly 20,000 small and marginal farmers who had been cultivating the Government land for the last forty years were not issued pattas.

To highlight the problems of the rural people, the party along with the AP Rytu Sangham and Agricultural Labour Union would conduct padayatra this month followed by picketing of MRO offices on November 30.
