With the efforts of the Visakhapatnam MP N.Janardhana Reddy, the city will get its share in the Rs.50,000 crore fund allocated under the head. Apart from this, separate funds would be allocated for providing several amenities like the light rail transit system which will also be introduced in the port cum steel city.
Mr. Janaradhana Reddy who is the Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Petroleum and Natural Gas told the press persons who met him on Sunday that the Visakha Refinery of HPCL would expand its capacity from 7.5 million tonnes to 13 MT.
A Naval Armament Project was also sanctioned for the city, the details of which could not be disclosed as it was a Defence project.
