Visakha Utsav 2005 will be a four day affair from December 22. The Annual Festival of Visakhapatnam encompasses programs linked to Tourism in North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and features programs on Tours and Expo, Musi, Dance and Flower Show, Arts and Sports and Craft and Treasure Hunt.
The details of the Visakha Utsav 2005 were finalized at a meeting of the Utsav Organizing Committee presided over by the Commercial Tax Minister, Konathala Ramakrishna and after weighing several opetions and considering the suggestions from participants. The Minister announced the dates said that if the Utsav was held in December, it would allow the administration to concentrate on the President’s Fleet Review to be held in February in the city.
Mr. Ramakrishna launched the Utsav’s Website to enable those interested across information about the event. A promotional film on the Utsav will be made and screened in major cities of the country and on a satellite channels to attract tourists from various parts of the country. The Minister said that eminent personalities from various walks of life would be honored on the occasion. District Collector, Praveen Prakash said sub committees had been formed for the conduct of the Utsav.
The Tourism festival of the North Coastal Andhra Pradesh will be celebrated from 22nd to 25th December 2005. The fete is organized by the Dept. of Tourism in co-ordination with the District Administration. The Utsav is projected as an important festival mainly to project the city as an important tourism destination.
